Bouygues Construction Projects

The first sustainable neighbourhood in the Mediterranean – XXL, a neighbourhood project in downtown Marseille

In Marseille, Bouygues Construction is developing the XXL Project, the first sustainable neighbourhood in the Mediterranean. Linkcity is leading the consortium behind the project, situated on a 14-hectare island that will include a makerspace. A community of makers will be mobilised, including entrepreneurs and artisans from the neighbourhood and all of Marseille who wish to gain recognition for their profession through sharing and exchange. With a “made in Marseille” production label forming part of short and re-use circuits, makers will encourage local production and purchase.

Ici Montreuil

Thanks to our network of multidisciplinary stakeholders, Bouygues Construction is in a position to deliver projects involving a wide range of sizes, types of activity, and specific requirements from project field coordinators (including environmental considerations, innovation and more). Our official partner ICI Montreuil was the first to develop these makerspaces and has now succeeded in generating substantial local production through the talents of local residents.
